Polygon Live LDN, the UK’s largest outdoor spatial audio festival, announces second wave of artists, including MAX COOPER, Cosmo Sheldrake, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Weval, and Yīn Yīn

The countdown for the UK’s largest outdoor spatial audio festival is on, and with a new wave of artists announced, anticipation is hotting up. Polygon Live LDN, in partnership with Metro, will take place in Crystal Palace Park from 2 to 4 May 2025 and will now feature (in alphabetical order) Cosmo Sheldrake, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Max Cooper, Weval and Yīn Yīn. These exceptional artists will be joined on stage by those already announced, including Arooj Aftab, Gold Panda, Halina Rice, Jon Hopkins, Nitin Sawhney, Photay and Tinariwen.

All of these artists will be performing in full 360° spatial audio across two hemispherical domes in the world premier of Polygon’s dual-dome stage design. Each dome will be rigged with almost 100 speakers in over 25 positions in a cutting-edge 12.1.4 immersive system: 12 L-Acoustics speaker arrays surrounding the audience, a festival-grade sub wall delivering earth-shaking bass, and four overhead arrays raining crystal-clear sound from above. That’s five times more speakers than a stage of similar size would use.

With a hand-picked selection of artists performing on this system, Polygon Live LDN set to be the best sounding festival London has ever heard.

Polygon Live LDN will welcome multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake, whose experimental folk-pop weaves field recordings, vocal loops and playful electronic elements that lead to eccentric and theatrical live performances.

Hailing from the United States, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is known for her expansive electronic compositions. Her combination of modular synthesisers and ethereal vocal layers are set to spatialise beautifully across the Polygon system.

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multidisciplinary artist and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art. He holds a PhD in computational biology, at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos. Cooper’s extensive interest and unique approach to putting on immersive audiovisual experiences makes him ideally suited to the Polygon stage. Cooper’s performance at Polygon Live LDN will come hot on the heels of his forthcoming new album project, On Being, set for release in February.

Dutch live act Weval’s atmospheric electronic music merges deep house rhythms, cinematic soundscapes and introspective melodies. Their live show features both electronic and analogue instruments, creating a dynamic and fixating performance.

Lastly, Yīn Yīn, poised at the crest of the new wave of psychedelic funk and rock, will wow audiences with a high-energy performance that combines Southeast Asian melodies, Western music and hypnotic dance rhythms.

“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with artists who are pushing the boundaries of music,” says Polygon director Adam Nicholas. “Their dedication to sonic innovation aligns perfectly with our vision for Polygon Live LDN, and together we’re set to take music production and the live experience to extraordinary new heights.”

VIP guests will be treated to an unparalleled experience, complete with all the perks one might expect, as well as a private viewing platform with its own dedicated spatial audio sound system. This allows VIPs to experience the full power of Polygon Live LDN without needing to go into the crowd.

As this diverse line-up of artists unleashes their music in full spatial audio, it will be perfectly synchronised across a complex web of lighting, creating a breathtaking visual spectacle. The entire festival set-up will also be totally covered, allowing attendees to enjoy this immersive audiovisual experience in complete comfort.

If ever there was an event not to be missed, this is it. Tickets are available via the Polygon website.
