Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival returns on 20–21 November 2026 with a spectacular international lineup and a celebration of music across generations. Announcing this year’s programme, festival producer Rockski EMG credited the Government of Meghalaya’s vision and sustained support for establishing what the organisers describe as India’s No. 1 music festival, and one of Meghalaya’s most powerful tourism brands.
The festival’s rise represents a tremendous achievement for the state. By recognising the potential of music and culture to drive tourism, the Government of Meghalaya has helped create a platform that brings global artists to Shillong, attracts visitors from across India and beyond, and places Meghalaya firmly in the international festival conversation.
This commitment has given Meghalaya a distinctive identity as a destination where world-class entertainment meets local culture and hospitality. Cherry Blossom’s recognition with the Music Festival of the Year honour at EEMAX Global in 2025 marks an important milestone in that journey.
The Government’s contribution extends beyond supporting an annual event. It has helped build a lasting tourism asset with opportunities for local artists, hospitality businesses, entrepreneurs and young people. For Meghalaya, Cherry Blossom is both a celebration of its musical identity and a platform for wider economic opportunity.

Connecting Meghalaya’s Talent with the World
Ahead of the festival, an International Music Summit on 19 November, held in collaboration with India International Music Week, will bring the focus to music industry connections and opportunities for local talent.
Festival promoters, record labels, booking agents and industry professionals from around the world will be invited to experience Meghalaya. Panel discussions, workshops and interactions with Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project (MGMP) artists will form part of the programme. The summit will be open to all artists and musicians from Meghalaya, creating a platform for engagement with the international music industry.

Beyond the Music
The 2026 edition will also introduce Cherry Blossom FIT CHECK, a fashion and self-expression competition with a total cash prize pool of ₹20 lakh. With online and on-ground participation and winner announcements on the Main Stage, the competition invites festival-goers to showcase their creativity and represent their generation.
A Red Bull Fan Zone, MMA, arm wrestling, cosplay and lifestyle experiences will further expand the festival experience.
As Cherry Blossom enters its next chapter, Rockski EMG acknowledges the Government of Meghalaya’s pivotal role in making this ambition possible. The 2026 edition builds on that achievement: strengthening Meghalaya’s tourism identity, creating opportunities for its people, and welcoming the world to Shillong.
