The EDM fever is taking over NCPA !


 

Opening its doors to the world in 1969, the NCPA became the first multi-venue and multi-purpose cultural centre to be built in South Asia. Vibrant and diverse, the NCPA today is recognized by artistes, patrons and media alike as India’s premier performing arts institution. The Centre provides a fine showcase for India’s rich performing arts traditions, all thanks to the institution’s training and research initiatives.

EDM, as genre offers a versetality and noveltly that makes space for every kind of music, musicians,artiste and listeners. Talented music artists and the growing number of educated Indian music lovers have driven substantial investment in this niche musical subculture.

The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai is all set to make their maiden venture into the world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) in association with Budweiser as a two day musical extravaganza featuring the top musicians from the Indian EDM genre– Sahej Bakshi, popularly known as Dualist inquiry and Anish Sood On 27-28 August 2016.

The first day of the concert will host 29-year-old Sahej Bakshi, better known by his stage name, Dualist Inquiry. This New Delhi-based producer, guitarist and composer is known for his guitar-driven electronica act with its live mixes. Since returning to Delhi after completing his education at the Thornton Music School, L.A. in March 2010, Sahej has been touring India extensively.In addition to being selected to perform at international venues, he has shared the stage with artists like David Guetta & Basement Jaxx among many others.

Day two of the concert will sway the audience with Anish Sood’smusic. A mechanical engineering student from Goa, Anish started in music early when he began DJing in high school. Sood since then has seen a steady rise from performing regular at nightclubs and making festival appearances to being been booked to play at major Indian festival !
