Kygo launches his own label
Kygo is undoubtedly not just one of the biggest names in the dance music industry but is also a person whose hard work and dedication has not just brought a ton of attention to the tropical house genre with a handful of high profile collaborations and some record-breaking streams that all together have played a massive role in shaping the genre into a mainstream dance music genre. Now alongside a partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, Kygo and his long-time manager Myles Shear have taken a huge step forward and have launched their very own label appropriately named “Palm Tree Records.”
While artists signed to the label will always have the backing of one of the best and experienced names in the industry, with Sony being a part of the deal this means that they will have access to a huge network of connections along with a whole plethora of top opportunities heading their way.
Although it’s a bit too early for word on any new signees or any releases as of now, we can certainly expect there to be a lot coming from him now as a number of artists with their own labels have stated that it a lot easier to release music as they can skip the whole approvals part that they had to go through while signed to previous labels. Besides launching his own label, Kygo was also honoured back in his hometown Bergen by receiving his own Walk of Fame stone.
