This duo builds a strong force to represent hard hitting big-room house music made in Germany. Getting recognized internationally with their first minimalistic peaktime bangers “Toxic Rush“ and “Flashbang“, Jewelz & Sparks established their very own style of production bringing a fresh new twist to the scene. This duo is not going to slow down.
We had a chance to interview them, read on:
Question: What made you both choose music as your career?
We did not really choose music, it feels more like music chose us. We both started playing instruments (Piano, Guitar) at a very young age and things developed from there. Music is our passion.
Question: Producers you admire?
There is a lot of great producers out there. We really like Liam Howlett, the mastermind behind “The Prodigy“. What he did in the 90s is kind of its own league. Also we think that “Knife Party“ have some awesome productions out there. Rob Swire seems to be kind of a genius to us.
Question: Your Top 3 tunes right now?
- Jewelz & Sparks – Parade 98
- Fedde Le Grand and Jewelz & Sparks – Robotic
- Bingo Players – Devotion (Jewelz & Sparks Bootleg)
Question: Performing at festivals or club shows which one do you prefer?
We actually get this question a lot which does not make it any easier to answer. Each setting has its own benefits so we love to play club shows as well as festivals.
In a club you have a more intimate atmosphere.
Question: Playing at which festival has been the most amazing experience ever?
Playing mainstage at ULTRA Europe has been a great experience for us! It was just huge.
Question: What message do you have for aspiring musicians who want to follow your footsteps?
Guys, be patient. Do not rush things. You have time, work on your productions and on your djing skills. You will have to deal with frustrations along your way, but these will make you stronger. Take every opportunity you get- A gig in front of 4 people who do not like your music might seem horrible at the time but each of those gigs will help you to get more experienced. It may take a lot of time, but If you really want it, you will make it!
Question: What’s next and how do you see the future of Jewelz & Sparks?
We‘re really happy with our project right now so we are going to see what‘s next. For us it‘s basicly all about making a living of your own music and creativity. We have a lot more music in store for you guys this year. That‘s for sure …
Question : Who are the top 3 artists you’d like to work with?
Fedde Le Grand
