Artists we would like to see tour India again!

The dance music scene in India has blown up to epic proportions in the last 10 years. Over the years many international artists have toured India. While many of them have kept coming back, there are some artists who haven’t returned in along time. So we here at CME HQ decided to put together a list of artists who we would love to see once again in India.

Carl Cox

OH YES! OH YES! We can still remember the bossman pumping up the crowd while our toes were buried in the cool Goan sands at the first ever Sunburn Festival in Goa in 2007.  It’s been a decade and Carl has only gotten better with time. He is THE LEGEND, the BENCHMARK when it comes to Techno music. With the 10 year anniversary of Sunburn Festival this year, we really hope we get to relive that moment.

Paul Van Dyk

Paul Van Dyk is arguably one of the best DJ’s in the industry and has had quiet a successful career with numerous chart topping singles under his belt. We were lucky enough to see him live at Vh1 Supersonic in 2014 where PvD blew our minds away with a beautiful set. Paul recently met with a pretty serious accident during one of the ASOT Festival shows and was hospitalised. Since then Paul has recovered and is back to performing for his fans. We really hope we get to see this trance music legend back in India soon.

Alesso made a mark on the industry with some stellar remixes of iconic songs. It was when he played one such remix at the MTV Bloc Party in 2013 that made us fall in love with him. Alesso’s career has risen to towering heights in the past couple of years with numerous chart-busting tracks not forgetting his most recent album ‘Forever’ which saw him climb to the top of the charts in various countries. Alesso has also expressed his love for India in a couple of interviews he did a year back. We can’t wait for Alesso to shower India with his love yet again.

Deadmau5 was one of the most awaited artists Indian audience ever wanted to witness and that dream did come true for many fans when India’s leading dance music company ‘Sunburn’ got him here in 2014 for a 3 city tour. Die hard Deadmau5 fans from all over India gathered together with their hand made Mau5 heads and raved as Joel cast his spell on them. Overwhelmed with the response Joel surely wants to come back to India very soon. The CME team is looking forward to have the progressive king back again in India soon.

Porter Robinson

This young lad has gone a long way since his last outing in India back in 2013 when he played at Sunburn’s festival in Noida. Since then Porter Robinson has now moved away from his usual DJ sets by adding Synthesizers and drum-pads in his live performances which certainly makes the experience a lot more different compared to his previous DJ sets and there’s no doubt that we would absolutely love to experience that here in India again.

Axwell /\ Ingrosso

Axwell is surely the one who has certainly played a major role in taking the electronic dance music scene to major heights in India and we surely cannot dilate the facts, about the unconditional love he has shared with India since the beginning. Teaming up with the ex- Swedish House Mafia member Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell & Ingrosso made Mumbai dance all the way to twilight in 2014 as a part of their multi city tour in India. Starting off the show by the curtain drop & wrapping it up with a confetti shower and making some sun shine, fans showed up in huge numbers to catch the Swedes live. We are still wonder how long we’ll have to wait to catch the duo in India live once again.

The last time we got to witness the sisters Jahan & Yasmine Yousaf was when we saw them tour India twice with Sunburn Festival which was at the city festivals as well as their main festival in Goa way back in 2014. The crowd loved every second of their sets singing at the top of their voices feeling more ‘Alive’ than ever. Since then they have gone through huge changes in both their sound and live performances by incorporating a guitarist and drummer in their sets which is certainly something that the ‘DesiKrew’ are anxiously waiting to witness live sometime soon.

Kaskade’s maiden India tour was an eventful one. The chart topping artist did a multi-city tour back in 2013. We saw packed and soldout venues with Kaskade fans lined up at the gates to get a chance to enter. Since 2013, Kaskade has become one of the most sought after artists in the EDM world. With chart topping hits and dream collaborations, this is one artist we want to see in India very very soon.

The Chainsmokers

A lot has happened since the Chainsmokers released their hit single ”Selfie”. After touring with Vh1Supersonic around India and then playing at the main festival in Goa back in 2014 the boys have made quite the name for themselves. These days the duo are busy breaking records with chart topping hits, although they recently played at a small party here in India only a handful of fans were fortunate enough to catch them live. The duo’s recent productions have been off the hook and  we hope to see them return sometime soon so that the rest of us might get a chance to see them drop their new tunes for us.

We’ve got our fingers crossed and hope to see some of these artists back sometime soon. If you think we left someone out do let us know by leaving a comment in the comment section below we would love to hear your opinions!
