It’s been a couple of weeks since Satellite Festival announced that they will be hosting India’s first ever Anjunadeep 12 Hour Party. Since then the excitement has only been building up. We have been as anxious as most of you to find out which of our favourite deep house artists from the Anjunadeep stable will be making their way to the Land of Orange Sunsets as Above & Beyond describe Goa. And finally the day has arrived and Satellite Festival definitely did not disappoint anyone.
The lineup for the Anjunadeep Sunset to Sunrise party at Waters, Vagator, Goa will see label legend Jody Wisternoff make a return to India after his last successful tour.
Jody Boss as he is popularly known as amongst his fans has been one of Anjunadeep’s finest artists and has been a constant on the label right from the start. Jody has also been one of the biggest contributors to the label with some splendid mesmerising tracks like Lassoo and Just One More. Apart from his singles and his debut album ‘Trails We Blaze’, Jody has also been working with label head, James Grant on the Anjunadeep Annual Compilations for the last 4 years. Those of you who have witnessed a Jody Wisternoff set before know it’s true when we say that there is something absolutely magical about them.
Playing alongside Jody will be Anjunadeep’s fastest rising star and already a legend in his own way YOTTO. The rise and success of this man is purely due to his brilliance in music. Yotto has been churning out some massive hypnotic and melodic tracks off late and each of them have climbed to the top of the charts. With an arsenal of chart topping tracks and looks to die for this man has been one of the label’s top players in the last 2 years. He also played a fantastic set at Above & Beyond’s landmark #ABGT200 celebrations in Amsterdam and by the end of his set the fans were left wanting for more. Having been a part of the Anjunadeep ABGT200 Afterparty in Amsterdam, we can tell you that YOTTO’s crowd control game is off the hook. His sets feature some of his best productions and some really unique tracks selected with a lot of research and efforts. But it’s his ‘From The Vault’ unreleased bootlegs that take away the prize. We can’t wait to dance our socks off to YOTTO’s set.
We will also be able to relive the vibes from the 2014 edition of Vh1 Supersonic as the super talented and equally beautiful duo of Eli and Fur will play once again in Goa at this showcase. Eliza Noble and Jennifer Skillman have been performing together since they were teens and have made quite the name for themselves. What makes their sets so unique is that they prefer to write their own tracks and blend them together to form a beautiful melodic progression that is maintained throughout their sets. In 2014, Eli & Fur played at Vh1 Supersonic festival in Candolim, Goa and the vibes they had set close to the sunset were just splendid. We cannot wait to experience the same again this December.
But the Trump Card on this line-up for us is definitely Dom Donnelly, who apart from working as A&R for Anjunadeep also doubles up as one of the label’s finest artists. Dom has been compiling sets for The Anjunadeep Edition podcasts for quite some time now. He is definitely one of the most underrated artists on the Anjunadeep roster. Dom has been the person responsible for finding some really talented artists and bringing them onboard to release their music on the Anjunadeep label. And at the same time he has been responsible for some spellbinding Anjunadeep Editions over the years. We are certainly looking forward to Dom’s set.
This fantastic selection of artists from the Anjunadeep label is sure to cast a magical vibe on the festival attendees. To add to this superb Anjunadeep starcast, we will also see two homegrown artists who have paved a fine career path for themselves doing what they love. Of Course we are talking about Praveen Achary and Nawed Khan aka Browncoat. Praveen and Anjuna have a special connection since a long time. Praveen has opened for Above & Beyond on their India tours on multiple occasions and has also remixed their track We Are All We Need which received a great response from fans and Above & Beyond alike. Praveen’s set are comprised of some beautiful melodic and progressive selections which appeal to all progressive music fans out there. While Nawed on the other hand has been turning heads with his Browncoat moniker. As Browncoat, Nawed loves to explore the deeper and enticing side of the BPM meter. These 2 artists will definitely add a lot of punch and value to this amazing lineup.
