The first ever Road to Ultra: India festivals are all set to take over Mumbai & Delhi in a few days time and we cannot wait any longer! Although the announcement for the festival came way back in March when Ultra announced it at their main festival that’s held annually in downtown Miami, the excitement level went up a hundred times more when they unleashed that jaw dropping lineup featuring not just one of the biggest names in the music industry “The Chainsmokers” but also that they would be supported by some of our favorite artists such as Rezz and Sam feldt to name a couple. Now that the tickets have gone on sale and we’re so close to walking through those gates we thought that we’d give you a short crash course on some of the artists who will be taking over the console. So kicking things off here is all that you need to know about Getter.
Tanner Petulla better know the world over by his stage name “Getter” started his career way back when he was just 16 years when he used to upload his own singles as well as remixes of artists such as Far East Movement and Timbaland on his SoundCloud but gained recognition when he started releasing his tracks on labels such as Ultragore Recordings and Tuff Love Dubs. Once in an interview he said that moved to Los Angeles when he was just 19 and lived at his friends room before he could afford an apartment and studio of his own.
Since then he has certainly come a long way making a name for himself in the dance music industry and has now collaborated with artists such as Skrillex (who would later get him signed over at OWSLA) and Downlink slowly learning the tricks of the trade and has also been improving his sound which has evolved from the aggressive basslines to a mix of beats over waves of reverb and bass that has made him one of the most sought after artists on the prestigious OWSLA lineup. Thats not all, he now even has his own record label named “Shred Collective” which is not just his record label but also his clothing brand and artist collective.
Getter gained popularity when he joined forced with Dillon Francis & Nick Colletti when they began making “SUH Dude” vines but got what is perhaps the biggest achievement of his life which is when he was asked to join the prestigious OWSLA lineup when he sent a demo to the OWSLA bossman Skrillex that was eventually released as “Head Splitter”.
He then went on to release his EP titled “Trenchlords Vol. 1” which consisted of 4 songs including collaborations with Also and Deemed but released another EP in 2015 under his alias “Planet Neutral” that showed a different more mellow side of him. 2016 was another big year for him as he released a ton of new music such as his track 666 which was featured on OWSLA’s “Worldwide Broadcast” compilation followed by his EP “Radical Dude” and also went on to release a remix of Marshmello’s hit track Alone on Monstercat. A month later in September of 2016 he made what is perhaps his biggest release to date as he released his brand new 7 track EP titled “What The Frick” on OWSLA which didn’t feature a single collaboration but all 7 we’re instead solo tracks.
From what we’ve previously seen, there’s no doubt that this is going to be one set that you bassheads certainly would not want to miss so he sure to get in nice and early grab a beer and head over to see this guy! If you haven’t already gotten your tickets, they’re currently on sale at BookMyShow so hurry up and grab yours as soon as you can as the tickets might just sell out as we aren’t that far away from the big day now.
