All About – Dannic

After hosting the festival at the sands of Goa for 9 years, Sunburn is celebrating their 10th year anniversary at Sunburn Hills – Pune. New venue, new vibes and much bigger lineup. With a lineup featuring acts like Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many more, one artist to look forward in the lineup is surely the Dutch star Dannic.

Born in the Dutch city of Breda, Dannic grew up listening to the sounds of his grandfather’s record collection from the age of seven. Determined to pursue music as a career, Dannic first became known for a string of hard-hitting mashups, and through honing his skills at clubs and festivals. In 2009 the DJ won the Dancetour DJ contest and subsequently played his productions to an audience of 10,000 people. With the exposure this afforded the Dutchman, Dannic released his debut solo track “Doster” on Revealed Recordings in 2012. The song earned support from heavy-weights Hardwell and Nicky Romero, and led to Dannic collaborating with Hardwell on the track “Kontiki”.

Issued on Nicky Romero’s Toolroom Records in early 2013, Dannic released the track “Clobber”, which became a staple track for DJs during the Winter Music Conference (WMC). Utilizing his close partnership with Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings, Dannic supported label showcases at the Amsterdam Dance Event and the sell-out Reveal Recordings Canadian Bus Tour – which attends Canada’s biggest clubs. Dannic subsequently released the tacks “Viper”, “Ignite”, “Rocker” and “Blueprint” in 2013 all of which received regular club rotation. Having been voted the 74th best DJ in the world by 2013 DJ Mag, Dannic shot up the ranking in 2014 by charting at No. 30. The move highlighted the DJ and producer’s move from being a hotly-tipped up-and-coming DJ, to a revered staple of modern dance music.

Dannic recently took the SLAM! Studio challenge where he created a track in just 1 hour. In a studio challenge series by SLAM, they invited Dannic for the first episode and challenge him to make a track in 60 minutes. There are few Dj’s who produce their own music these days, and its not easy to take up this challenge. But yea the Dutch did it. Watch the complete video below how he created the track in an hour.

Dannic has toured India previously and gained enormous fan following in the country. We are sure his set would be one to watch for, we can’t wait to watch him live at Sunburn Hills, Pune.
